Dedicated to the preservation of vintage model aircraft kits, plans, and
memorabilia, Air Ace may be thought of as a "recycle" effort dedicated
to the preservation of historical merchandise, but also dedicated to the
presentation of new and innovative material such as the full-color Air Ace
Monographs which are presented for builders of rubber-powered, electric-powered,
or Co2-powered free-flight models.
Think
of this website as an electronic trip to a unique collection which is for sale.
Selection is limited as many of the items shown are the only ones in stock. When
sold, they will be removed from the website and replaced by other offerings. I
am still learning how to use this tool and I must thank my 18 year old son
Patrick for setting up
this website. He is going off to college this fall, but promises to keep in
touch. Meanwhile, my 16 year old son, Nicholas, is helping me with typing and inventory. He was born modest, but, as you can
see, it wore off.
In
the left margin of your screen you will see a yellow topical listing of website
features. By placing your cursor on a topic and left clicking your mouse, you
will see the yellow listing open to reveal a white sub-listing of topics. For
instance, if you select “Air Ace Bookstore” from the yellow index list and
click your mouse you will find that a sub-listing will open for: books,
magazines, and reprints. By placing your cursor on a sub-listed topic, such as
“books,” you will be taken to a specific listing of books currently
available which are arranged by topic, according to author, title, etc.
Although
the central theme is model airplanes, there are also a number of related topics
available, such as videos, artwork, etc. Please keep in mind that this is not a
huge commercial venture with thousands of items in stock. It is a chance for you
to visit an ever-changing collection of items being made available by modelers
and/or by the friends and families of deceased modelers, to persons who will
enjoy them.
Every
effort has been made to fairly price the items offered. When available, we have
noted the asking prices of similar items and set our prices slightly lower to
encourage sales. We have neither the space nor the desire to hold out for
absolutely top dollar sales. So, for instance, an original Cleveland Kit which
might bring $100.00 may be sold to you for only $80.00. This assures us of a
good return on one hand, and you of a good deal on the other.
At this time, we are not equipped to handle credit card purchases or online financial transactions. We do not want cash to be sent since it can be lost or stolen and there is no record for our mutual protection. What we prefer is that payments be made by certified check or money order (no personal checks, please) made payable to “Air Ace Models” and sent to 11216 Lake Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44102-6102. Items ordered for purchase will be held for two (2) weeks after the order is placed. If payment is not received within two weeks, then the items will be made available to other purchasers. Purchases will be promptly shipped upon receipt of payment. If a purchase is not satisfactory, then it may be returned within thirty (30) days for a full refund less 10% shipping and handling. All sales are final thirty days after payment is received.
